The New Republic Mechanized Division is a branch of the New Republic Ground Operations. It is stationed across garrisons on planets throughout New Republic territory, and is primarily responsible for all heavy artillery operations.
History[]
The New Republic Mechanized Division became its own branch of the New Republic Military after the liberation of Coruscant and the formation of a New Republic. As the New Republic was born and the military shifted into a different role, the division was implemented to serve a support role for the Marine Corps and the Infantry.

Structure[]
Without a distinct chain of command, the Mechanized Division is only overseen by a handful of flag officers, ranging from Major General to Lieutenant Colonel in rank. From there, each individual mechanized unit is assigned a post with either the Infantry Army or the Marine Corps, and will generally take orders from those unit commanders. The Mechanized Division's Command Staff simply works to oversee deployment of mechanized units into their various Infantry and Marine homes.
With field weapons ranging from E-Web blaster emplacements and armored repulsor-tanks, to airspeeders and turbolasers, the Mechanized Division is almost always operated exclusively on New Republic ground installations and bases. On occasion, the Mechanized Division will be called into action by the Marine Corps for mobile assault missions against Imperial ground targets.

Vehicles used by the Division[]
During the Galactic Civil War, the forces of the Rebel Alliance used a wide variety of cobbled-together and modified vehicles to fight their battles, along with a treasured handful of dedicated military equipment. When the New Republic arose from the victories of the Alliance, and the ground troops were solidified into a proper GroundOps organization with greater resources, a few of the more successful Alliance vehicles were chosen to be put into widespread official use in the Mechanized Division.

The Mechanized Division is currently not open to role-play, and serves a background role for the New Republic Military. However, as a player, you may join the New Republic Marine Corps as a Mechanized Division asset, being a member of the Mechanized Division who is specifically assigned to the Marine Corps.
