The Imperial Royal Court was established around 12 ABY on Dreven. Its role and position within the Imperial hierarchy has never been clearly defined, as is with most Imperial institutions, but it is a body of nobles and other courtly figures who play to the Emperor's desires. Similar to the Imperial Ruling Council and the Emperor's Imperial Advisors, they form another element of the Emperor's own court, bureaucrats vying for the Emperor's favor and constantly fighting amongst themselves to gain a voice with the Emperor.
By 14 ABY, the Court had become a relic and forgotten institution, one largely ignored by the Empire proper as it entered a revitalized era under the leadership of Darth Malign and Danik Kreldin. With Dreven a footnote in Imperial history, the Court has largely fallen apart, with a few survivors attempting to reach out to the enigmatic Aleister Vadim on Imperial Center, yet with little success.
