Current Assignment[]

The Responder was commanded by Captain Viktor Aristov from 19 ABY to 25 ABY and was assigned to the Corporate sector-fleet to secure the region against hostile forces and piracy at the behest of the Imperial Advisor, Aldus Thel.

Service History[]

Among the first batch of Venator-class Attack Cruisers built during the Clone Wars, the Responder served on numerous fronts and by the end of the war was commanded by then-Captain Solomon Fields.

A major refit undertaken in 31 ISY as part of a modernisation program to bring the aging Venators up to modern military standards. The Responder saw her crew requirement, troop and starfighter compliments reduced by a factor of five, while her shielding and armaments were significantly increased.

Loss[]

The Responder was destroyed during the Battle of Bothawui by a mass salvo of concussion missiles launched by a squadron of Corellian Gunships while under the battle command of her executive officer, Commander Roice.

The Responder went down with all hands, however her Stormtrooper compliment had already disembarked.

Commanding officer, Captain Aristov, was not aboard at the time of the incident.

Ship Legends[]

These stories are popularly recounted. Though of dubious fidelity to the actual events, they are generally accepted as having a basis in fact.

The Responder has retained her Clone Wars era name despite considerable efforts by the Ubiqtorate thanks to the influence of Solomon Fields who throughout his command refused to acknowledge the vessel by any other name. The situation was an early example of stand-offs between the nascent Coalition for Progress and the politically powerful Imperial Navy, which ended in an embarrassing defeat for COMPNOR that would go on to hinder its efforts to reign in the Navy for years to come.
