Cochran (or in some Griffon dialects Cochran-de-la-Rhine) was once a treasure-world in the Mid-Rim, but has been reduced to a celestial mausoleum through terrifying, abrupt acts of stress, war, and abuse. During the time of the Griffon Alliance, it was the Alliance's capitol world.

[edit] A Tragic End

In 14 ABY, the planet was the subject of a Base Delta Zero attack by the Imperial forces of Grand Admiral Danik Kreldin's ordered Base Delta Zero attack in 14 ABY. The hour-long bombardment rendered the planet uninhabitable and resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of sentients, all as an act of retaliation for Griffon involvement in the destruction of the third Death Star.

Later, in 15 ABY, the New Sith Order would use the dead world as a base of operations and droid production. The sterility of the planet obscured their work from even the senses of the Jedi for quite some time. However, less than a year later, Luke Skywalker saw through the cloud of the dead world by the guidance of the Force. He revealed this discovery to Captain Dareus, whose angered response confirmed Skywalker's suspicions. Due to this apparent discovery, the New Sith Order withdrew all assets and destroyed the base by bombardment from the HIMS Predator, leaving the planet once again without any traces of life.

The Sith would then return and mine the planet until it cracked. The world shattered and one of the largest pieces would be put together as Vector One in 17 ABY. A major Sith Order holding in the region.
