Bavon Nass was the head of a large organized crime syndicate operating on Ord Mantell in late 18 ABY.

Little is known about Nass prior to his publicized conflicts with Senator Tokoga and his eventual arrest. Relevant records about his birth and early history are presumed destroyed as part of his own efforts to facilitate his underworld activities.

History[]

At Large In New Alderaan[]

The business of Nass' syndicate was wide and diverse, and included among other things illegal gambling, blackmail, extortion and racketeering. What initially brought the attention of his future political nemesis was the firstmost--not because of the tax issues, but because the house was cheating.

Later, his name would come up when the same witnessed some of his men roughing up a businessowner on the streets of Ord Mantell in broad daylight. After being alerted to the fact that Tokoga was poking around in Nass' affairs, he visited the Senator in his office, who was none too amused when he arrived. Nass tried to convince Tokoga of the necessity of operations like his own, but the stubborn Mon Calamari made it clear that he wasn't interested. [1]

After a failed plot to have the Senator killed while eating dinner near the Casami Gardens[2], Tokoga responds by drafting legislation that would grant Republic authorities new legal powers in fighting organized criminal enterprises like the one that Nass stood at the top of.

Following the initial presentation of what Tokoga had termed the Incorporated Crime Act, Nass ensured that two public attempts on his life happened. The second of these, an exploding bike brought to New Alderaan's government district by a courier, was accompanied by a message delivered via a droid: there wouldn't be any more warnings.[3]

Shortly thereafter, he placed a bounty on the Senator's head via the black market.[4], an act that would later become his downfall when the Senator faked his death[5] and had Dravin Xiz collect the bounty under surveillance.[6]

Arrest & Disappearance[]

Following Nass' arrest[7], he was held in New Alderaan's only maximum security prison facility while he awaited his trial date. While there, he requested Tokoga and Myiari's presence. When they arrived, he seemed quite confident about his future until a number of individuals in Mandalorian armor broke into the facility and kidnapped Nass.[8] After this incident, he was presumed dead by both local and Republic authorities.
