The 36T Carbine's resemblance to the ST-I/E-11 blaster rifle is unmistakeable. Its design originated from a desire in certain military circles to produce a lighter-weight version of the already light ST-I/E-11 series blaster rifles for use in shipboard operations and other close-quarters environs. With a shorter barrel, the removal of many of its cooling coils andthe collapsable shoulder stock, and the move to a lighter, less powerful scope, it's makers have created a weapon half the weight, and about two thirds the length of its ancestor - only slightly larger than many heavy blaster pistols. It still retains a formidable punch, and easily outranges pistols, but in other areas its performance has been sacraficed. The carbine did not turn out to possess the E-11's comfortable balance, and its recoil can make controlling the weapon a brutal prospect, particularly in rapid firing.
